Ok, here's something we all know...relationships are hard. Here's another...raising kids in this day and age is hard, too! The messages and influences surrounding our kids are everywhere. Getting them to speak openly is more difficult than ever with the distractions of the video games and the internet. Being a single parent makes that challenge even more great. You just can't be everywhere at once! You want to know your children's influences. You want to be able to monitor their influences.
Every neighborhood has one. The house where all the kids gather. The mother that all the kids know. If you can become that mother, you will have more of idea of where and what your children are doing. How do you do that? What did Mrs. Cleaver and Alice have know? Well, what is the first thing your kids do when they get home? They head for the snacks. Don't you remember your friend's houses that had the good food? I do! What do kids love to eat? I'll give you a hint...there is no such thing as the carrot monster! If you build the world's best cookies, will they not come? And so the desire to make the world's best cookie is born!
Along the way, here is what two single mothers in Dallas have discovered...kids of every age love cookies. It's not something you ever outgrow. I could share with you how we may be a little guilty of manipulating situations (and maybe men) to our advantage by what you find in our tins.
